Welcome to episode 7 of the Mac Roundtable.
This week we discuss:
Our Apple support experiences and some tips on how to deal with phone support. Has quality control at Apple slipped? What products would we design if we were in charge of Apple.
We also want to thank Von Glitschka from Glitschka Studios for the new Mac Roundtable logo.
Join hosts Joseph Nilo from the MacPro Podcast, Tim Verpoorten from MacReviewcast, Adam Christianson from the MacCast and Steve Stanger from The Mac Attack on this weeks podcast.

The sound quality on these podcasts has been declining drastically over the last few releases. This latest one is absolutely abysmal. At least two of the participants, the levels were so low as to be nearly inaudible. For the rest of them, the audio was clipped, distorted and generally muddy. It is becoming a painful experience to listen to these.

I really wanted to hear opinions about how Apple handled the little girl’s suggestions before you went off topic (had the same experience on Adam’s show when he brought it up). I was surprised that no one considered what would happen if at some later time apple came out with a product that incorporated some of these ideas. In today’s world I can see someone sueing apple for stealing their ideas. Maybe I’m jaded because I work in a big company and patents are everywhere, but this seems like a logical reason for Apple not wanting any suggestions. Personally I think the whole atmosphere around patents is bad in so many ways, but I would be interested to hear more on this topic.
Thanks for the show, all. Its a good compliment to your individual podcasts!

Love the show but the audio quality has been horrible lately. Either too quiet or very choppy like someone has a lack of bandwidth. I almost stopped listening to this weeks show.

So I have really enjoyed the roundtable. I have kind-of thought of it as TWIT for the Mac. I was anxiously waiting to hear (since the dust has kind-of settled) about everybodies impressions and thoughts on Boot Camp. I mean, gee whiz, Probably one of the most significant announcements/introductions in Apple’s history, and a Mac roundtable simply doesn’t say anything about it? Maybe understandable if there had been some other more important news that had also come out to focus on, but what was talked about instead was some little girl who got a form letter from Apple? Golly, should I ever assume the round table is going to discuss anything important/significant? Was it because you all thought that everybody was already tired of hearing about it? What about Parallels? Is a machine slower if it is running 2 OS’s at one time rather than re-boot? What might the issues be? This type of discussion with all the different experience that you all have is what is most valuable. Not little girls getting form letters…. Since the show was so short, and long time since the previous, I can only assume that it is just too difficult for you all to get together. Since I really like your show and want it to succeed, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is for you all to get together consistantly and substantively. I listen to most all of your individual Podcasts. You all work too hard to let such a good idea go bland. Good luck, I wish you all the best.

I agree with the comments on sound quality. The amin problem seemed to be be with Joseph’s volume. It was much too low – you could not hear him at all, unless increasing the volume which made everyone else too loud.
Otherwise an informative show!

MacRoundtable is a great podcast. I just wish it was produced as originally scheduled (twice a month).
