Peer pressure ahh, Victor? I’m looking into my local MUG and I think I’m joining in. I know, peer pressure. 😉

You guys beat around the bush with the CPU speed and disk speed issue. There isn’t much point in getting a Mac Pro unless you have a fast disk system. Often my Mac Pro is disk bound. I can tell because the CPU speed doesn’t get to 100% because it is waiting for the disk. I can tell if I don’t have enough memory by looking at the ratio of page outs to page ins. If your CPU doesn’t reach 100% then your system is not ‘balanced’. 10000 RPM Raptors in a raid configuration is the way to go. It is a crime that Apple charges so much for its raid card.
I did look up my local MUG.

Hey guys – FANTASTIC show! I didn’t yell at the iPod hardly at all this time! Victor, thanks for keeping Chuck in line, and excellent job corralling the cats, really well orchestrated, very crisp.
One thing I can’t believe you let Chuck get away with was the line “Leopard was shaky at spots”. Seriously? no one caught that? I was cracking up at that!
one comment on user groups – I’ve found them to be quite a bit older audience. I’m 51 and the one at which I’ve presented a few times had membership a minimum of 10 years older than me. I love presenting to them tho – they treat me like a rock star, and they all take my business card! You’d love it Victor. I had about 70 people at the last one and nobody walked out before I was done (maybe they were napping?) i taught them all about new media – wikis, blogs, podcasting and twitter. it was great fun.
Steve – the new unibody MacBooks are just as easy to remove the drives – 3 captive screws and a tab to pull under the battery. The GREAT news is that the new unibody MacBook Pros are just as easy!
Great job guys!

Listening to the Podcast I feel like there is bit of uncertainty among the participants. The mac community is changing and growing a lot but most of the new people came because of the community.
I?m a 1 year switcher from Spain and I really, really, really love what you all do. I listen to all of the podcast you participate (TMUP, Nosilla, MacPowerUsers, MacCore, MacCast, IMP,?) and all of the development ones (MacFusion, CoreIntution, ?) and I feel that they could not exist better community.
I want to be part of it, participate and make it even better if possible.
Thank you all!
BTW: a funny thing! Mostly I listen to podcast while running with my shuffle and now I run more that ever (40km a weak –24.8 miles–)

Hi:
I LOVE the show, but I do want to strongly disagree with some of the opinions expressed. I’m thrilled that Snow Leopard is coming out, but I object to paying full price for it. I feel I already paid full price for the features.
If I paid a higher price for a car with Air conditioning and power windows, but neither worked. I would be really angry if they came back later and told me I could have though extra all for the low, low price of a completely new car.
Should I be thankful? Or would I be calling the better business bureau? Why is Apple any different?
Obviously, I’ll pay, because I actually want the seamless networking I didn’t get in Leopard – just like I paid full price again for the Spotlight that didn’t work in the previous version. I’m weary of it.
