By the way the hard drive on the iMac is not really user replaceable as Bart said. It is not a task for the average user as you can see in the following guide. The memory though is easily replaceable.

As for the Mac Pro / iMac debate. I have a Mac Pro after having the aluminum iMac. Upgradeable is key. On my iMac I had tree USB drives hanging off of it along with other peripherals. The iMac it nice and tidy, but not everything attached to it. As a software developer using multiple virtual machines the amount of memory available is really key and the Mac Pro shines here.
I also will be able to over time add a Blu-Ray drive (yes the box of hurt) and e-Sata adapters if I want. This makes the Mac Pro a machine that can grow over time and give you a longer life span.
The iMac really is quite an awesome machine and if they add easily replaced hard drives like they have on the new line of MBs and MBPs it will be even better. Especially if they go quad core. The questions comes down to will the machine be one you can live with for 3 years or so with the options it comes with.

It is incredibly that in your MobileMe review you did not talk about Microsoft LiveMesh. With it you can get 4Gb free of storage, automatically synchronization with all your computers (Mac and PC)… If you do not now it give it a try it works great! I would love if mobile me had this functionality.

I believe someone said the iMac and MP use the same processor, but the MP uses Xeon (server-type) processors. iMacs use C2D processors (although the next update may change that?).
I purchased a Mac Pro because of speed and expandability for the work I need it to do. But the iMac is a great machine also. I think it comes down to your budget and present and future needs.
Also, Don, you can actually use four video cards to drive up to eight 30″ displays.
